Butterfly tour in Nepal

Butterfly tour in Nepal

643 species of butterfly found in nepal

The great wealth of butterfly diversity in Nepal becomes apparent from its great bioclimatic variation from tropical and subtropical zone to the Tundra and the Arctic zone along the attitudinal gradation of the mountains. Over 77 per cent of Nepal's 147,181 sq. km area is mountainous and forest land is estimated to stand at 37.6 per cent.

The interface between the two major zoo-geographic realm i.e. the Palaearctic and the Oriental is very profound in the fauna of Nepal. The Palaearctic realm extending to Nepal on the north of the main Himalayan range and the oriental realm extending to the Terai and foothills of the Himalaya merge into a complex system of mixed high mountains. This has prompted many authors to divide Nepal into three zoo-geographic zones - Indian, Himalayan and Palaearctic. As such endemism in insect fauna is very much pronounced and warrants special attention for studies and research.

The need to investigate into the butterfly fauna of Nepal largely remains unfulfilled. Therefore, an attempt is being made here to consolidate information on the species diversity of butterflies recorded in Nepal.

Butterflies are closely affiliated with the lives of human beings both as foes and friends. Like any other biological species some are rare while others are common and abundant. A number of them face serious threats even within protected areas. Therefore, it is urgent to pay proper attention towards generating proper knowledge and information to enable the government and people of Nepal to protect Nepalese butterflies

Yoga Meditation in Nepal

Yoga Meditation in Nepal

Yoga, Meditation Nepal
So many travelers come to Nepal for meditation, yoga, astrology, retreats and to merge with the mighty Himalayas. Activities are mainly centered around the Kathmandu Valley, though Pokhara is becoming popular with more options becoming available. The following gives you a guideline of different spiritual activities and natural healing in Nepal. When you come to Nepal you can find lots of advertising for courses, study and activities on the following topics.

Yoga = 'Unity', 'Oneness'. Came from the Sanskrit word "YOG" which means "TO JOIN". To many, the thought of yoga has an image of postures (Asanas) to develop flexibility, general body health and awareness. This is just the beginning. While the main point is to reach the highest goal of the spiritual path, practicing yoga can give benefits to everyone regardless to their spiritual aims.

The Eight Fold Path of Yoga looks deeply into the morality of living. It consists of: Yama (self restraints), Niyama (self observances) Asana, Pranayama (breath techniques), Pratyhara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (identification with pure consciousness).

There is an inter-relationship between yoga and meditation and you can decide to focus more on either one or both together. The Himalayas have played a big role in self realization. It's isolation from the world and ideal environment makes Nepal an ideal place to practice yoga.

Kathmandu is where you'll find yoga classes most. Notice boards in hotels and restaurants will advertise current courses and activities.

Vipassana is one of the most ancient techniques. Long lost to people, it was rediscovered by Gautam Buddha more than 2500 years ago. Vipassana means 'to see things as they really are'. It is an art of living which frees the individual from all the negativities of mind, such as anger, greed and ignorance. It is a practice which develops positive, creative energy for the betterment of the individual and society.

The path (Dhamma) is a universal remedy for universal problems and has nothing to do with any religion. It can be practiced freely by anyone without conflict with race, caste or religion, in any place, and at any time and it will prove beneficial to everyone.

Nepal has many places where you can uncover further truths through meditation.

Travels and Trekking Information

Travels and Trekking Information
Trekking is the gift of Nepal to the world in adventure tourism. To be one with Nature, to regenerate one's own self-esteem, to rediscover oneself, to appreciate Nepal's beauty, to interact with its hospitable and friendly peoples are some of the highlights of trekking in Nepal. Trekking is one long-term activity that draws repeat visitors to the country. Therefore, Nepal is the ultimate destination for the trekking enthusiast. It offers a myriad of possibilities - from the "short and easy" walking excursions to the "demanding and strenuous" challenges of the snowy peaks and their foothills and valleys. But however easy, or moderate, or strenuous, there is something for every palate that goes with trekking in Nepal's hills, mountains and hinterlands. The most rewarding way to experience Nepal's indomitable combination of natural beauty and cultural riches is to walk through the length, breadth and the altitudes of Nepal. Trekking in Nepal is as much a unique cultural experience as well as an ultimate Himalayan advent.
